Head of Risk & Compliance Career Path
The Head of Risk & Compliance owns the firm's risk framework end to end — AML, conflicts, business acceptance and regulatory compliance — and answers for it at board level. Here's what the role involves, what it pays, and the routes that lead to it.

- Advising partners directly on the matters that carry the most regulatory or reputational risk
- Holding or deputising for the COLP and MLCO named roles, with the personal accountability they carry
- Managing the firm's relationship with the SRA and, increasingly, the FCA on AML supervision
- Reporting to the board on risk posture, incidents and the control environment
- Owning professional indemnity renewal and the firm's claims and complaints position
