A leading UK law firm is looking for a Risk Lawyer to their Risk & Compliance team in Bristol.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer in a fee earning role with experience in SaaS contracts and data protection to move into an in-house role where you will be working on a broad range of risk management, regulatory and compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities for the Risk Lawyer role:

• Provide legal and regulatory advice to support the firm’s compliance with professional conduct rules and risk management frameworks.
• Review and negotiate supplier and client contract terms, ensuring consistency with internal standards and risk appetite.
• Support the firm’s data protection and information security obligations, working closely with the Data Protection Officer and IT teams.
• Advise on risk issues relating to the adoption of new technologies and legal service innovations, including AI tools.
• Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments relevant to the firm’s operations, helping to implement any required changes.
• Contribute to internal training and awareness initiatives on risk and compliance.
• Assist in the development and refinement of firm policies, procedures, and guidance materials.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified lawyer or equivalent in house experience within a law firm.
• Solid understanding of professional conduct rules, regulatory compliance, or commercial risk issues within a legal environment.
• Experience with technology, SaaS, or supplier contracts would be advantageous.
• A collaborative team player who can build strong relationships across the business.
