A leading international law firm is looking for a Lateral Conflicts Attorney to join its growing Risk & Compliance function in New York with 3 days in office.

This is a newly created position and an excellent opportunity for an experienced conflicts professional who is looking to take on a high-impact position within a leading international law firm.

Key Responsibilities for the Lateral Conflicts Attorney role:

• Lead and manage conflicts analysis relating to lateral partner and associate hires
• Conduct detailed conflicts checks, including reviewing client relationships, matters, and potential legal and commercial conflicts
• Advise on conflict resolution strategies, including ethical walls and waivers
• Collaborate with partners, General Counsel, and recruitment teams throughout the lateral hiring process
• Draft and review conflict waivers and engagement terms where required
• Ensure compliance with applicable professional responsibility and regulatory obligations
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of conflicts policies and procedures

Key Requirements:

• Qualified attorney (US qualified preferred) or equivalent experience within a law firm risk and compliance function
• 3 to 5 years experience handling lateral conflicts within an international law firm environment
• In-depth knowledge of legal conflicts rules and professional responsibility standards
• Proven ability to manage complex conflicts issues and provide pragmatic, risk-based advice
