As a Compliance Analyst / Business Acceptance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the legal and ethical integrity of our firm. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the smooth operation of our legal services. Below are the key responsibilities you will undertake: 

Initiate and Analyse Conflict Checks

You will manage conflict checks for new matters using the firm's conflict checking system, ensuring all legal and commercial conflicts of interest are identified and resolved. Working alongside experienced colleagues in Legal & Risk, you will help maintain the highest standards of service.

Conduct Due Diligence and Risk Assessment

Your role includes conducting comprehensive client due diligence and risk assessments of clients and matters. This involves anti-money laundering (AML) checks, sanctions reviews, and ensuring compliance with professional rules and relevant laws.

Advise on Compliance Issues

You will advise the firm’s lawyers on new client acceptance, client identification procedures, AML queries, sanctions, and reputational risk issues. Your insights will guide the firm in maintaining its compliance and protecting its reputation.

Manage Information Barriers and Confidentiality

Setting up and maintaining information barriers to protect client confidential information is a key part of your role. You will ensure that sensitive data is handled with the utmost care and in accordance with legal requirements.

What’s the Ideal Legal Compliance Candidate Profile?
Educational Background
Law degree or equivalent experience in Risk and Compliance.
Experience Required
Previous experience in a compliance role within a law firm or financial services environment. Familiarity with conflict clearance and AML processes is highly desirable.
Skills Requested
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence and persuade at all levels.
