A prominent UK law firm is looking for a Risk Lawyer / Senior Risk Lawyer to join their Risk & Compliance team in London.

This Risk Lawyer / Senior Risk Lawyer role offers excellent flexibility and would suit a commercially minded lawyer with strong drafting skills who is looking to work closely with partners and senior stakeholders on a broad range of professional risk and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities for the Risk Lawyer / Senior Risk Lawyer role:

• Provide expert legal and strategic advice on a broad range of professional, regulatory and operational risk issues.
• Taking ownership of a range of risk-related matters, including the ongoing review, development, and enhancement of the firm’s risk frameworks, controls, and internal processes.
• Contributing to the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Risk Department, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders on cross-functional initiatives.
• Assist with the development, review and implementation of risk policies, procedures and controls.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex or high-risk matters across the firm.
• Deliver training and guidance to partners and fee-earners on risk, compliance and regulatory developments.
• Contribute to firm-wide initiatives, audits and regulatory interactions.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the firm and provide clear, pragmatic advice to stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent)
• Experience in risk, compliance, professional standards, or regulatory advisory work, either in-house or from private practice
• Strong knowledge of SRA regulations and professional conduct issues
• Experience using Intapp and knowledge of conflicts of interest or financial crime is highly desirable. Knowledge and experience in client and matter onboarding is essential.
