Senior AML & Conflicts Analyst

A leading global law firm is looking for a Senior AML & Conflicts Analyst to join their Compliance team in their London office. The role will focus primarily on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures, with additional responsibilities for managing conflicts of interest. 

The ideal candidate will have experience in both areas, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards within a law firm environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior AML  & Conflicts Analyst:   

  • Handle AML matter openings from inception to conclusion, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.

  • Monitor ongoing client activity to detect any suspicious transactions or behaviours.

  • Conduct thorough client due diligence (CDD), including enhanced due diligence (EDD) for high-risk clients.

  • Supervise a small number of analysts, supporting their daily work and professional development.

  • Act as a point of escalation for junior members of the AML Team, offering training support and guidance

  • Liaise with fee earners and partners to resolve any AML-related queries.

  • Perform conflicts checks on new and existing matters to identify potential issues.

  • Assist in resolving conflict matters and advising on appropriate measures to mitigate risk.  

  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of the firm’s AML and conflicts policies.

  • Provide training sessions to new hires and existing staff to ensure firm-wide compliance with AML regulations and conflicts procedures.

Qualifications:  

  • Proven experience in a senior role conducting AML enquiries and conducting conflicts searches within a law firm environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of UK and international AML regulations and a solid understanding of the SRA Standards and Regulations, especially Rule 6 (Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality).

  • High proficiency with Intapp and financial crime databases

  • Proficient in identifying client due diligence requirements for both corporate and individual clients.
