An international law firm is looking for a Risk and Compliance Manager and can be based in either their London office or the Bishops Stortford office.
The Risk and Compliance Manager position is a key role responsible for providing expert advice on risk and compliance issues, and ensuring effective policies and procedures are in place.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the firm complies with all legal, regulatory, and professional rules in collaboration with the firm’s key officers (COLP, MLCO/MLRO, DPO) and the operational board.

Stay updated on regulatory changes and advise the firm on necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.

Work closely with key stakeholders across the firm to ensure alignment between risk management and business objectives.

Manage internal and external reporting on risk and compliance issues, providing clear advice to senior stakeholders.

Develop and deliver training programs to ensure all staff understand compliance obligations.

Manage and update the firm’s policies, procedures, and compliance framework.

Support the MLRO with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) risk assessments and audits.

Lead the firm’s file review processes, identifying trends and ensuring corrective actions are taken..

Assist with the firm’s professional indemnity insurance, including liaising with brokers and claims handlers.

Supervise junior members of the Risk and Compliance team.
Qualifications:

Proven experience in a similar risk and compliance role within a law firm.

Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks, including SRA regulations, AML, GDPR, and other relevant global standards.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects, prioritising tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in delivering training and raising awareness of compliance issues within an organisation.

Ability to influence colleagues at all levels
