A Global law firm are looking for a driven and dedicated Compliance Officer to join our Business Acceptance team. Key Responsibilities:
As a Compliance Officer, your primary focus will be to assist in the efficient processing of business acceptance tasks, specifically related to conflict checks and new client/matter openings. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Conflict Search Analysis: Reviewing and interpreting conflict search results to identify potential regulatory or commercial conflicts, and facilitating their resolution using Intapp Open software.
- New Client and Matter Intake: Managing the process for new client and matter openings, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
- Client Due Diligence (CDD): Conducting thorough research on potential new clients and assisting fee-earners with gathering the necessary information and documentation for CDD.
- Information Barriers: Implementing and maintaining information barriers within the firm.
- Sanctions Screening: Carrying out screening for sanctions compliance, ensuring all business relationships meet regulatory standards.
- Software Testing: Assisting in testing software upgrades, particularly for Intapp Open and other tools used by the Business Acceptance team.
Required Skills and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will need a solid understanding of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, conflict of interest rules, and compliance procedures across multiple jurisdictions. Additionally, you should possess:
- Knowledge of AML and Conflict Rules: A strong understanding of AML legislation and conflict resolution practices as they apply across all regions in which the firm operates.
- Effective Communication: The ability to clearly and confidently present information to senior stakeholders and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
- Teamwork: A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Time Management: Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
- Adaptability: A desire to continually expand your knowledge and stay up to date with changes in processes and compliance requirements.
- Relevant Experience: A degree of equivalent qualification along with prior experience working within a compliance team in a law firm or regulated industry is essential.
