A leading international law firm is looking for an Engagement Terms Analyst to join its growing Risk & Compliance Team in New York.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of how law firms operate and experience drafting and reviewing engagement letters within a law firm environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Engagement Terms Analyst role:

• Ensure all engagement documentation, including engagement letters and terms of business, are accurate and compliant.
• Review and assess engagement terms and outside counsel guidelines (OCGs), identifying potential legal, commercial, and operational risks.
• Conduct in-depth analysis to support firmwide client and sector-focused initiatives, providing insight into engagement trends and associated risks.
• Provide clear, practical guidance and draft responses to internal stakeholders and clients on engagement-related queries and requirements.
• Act as a key point of contact for queries relating to client engagement terms, offering support to partners, legal teams, and business services functions.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure consistency in approach and adherence to firm standards.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of engagement processes, templates, and best practices.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience within a law firm, with a strong understanding of legal operations and client engagement processes.
• Demonstrable experience drafting and reviewing engagement letters and advising on engagement terms.
• Familiarity with reviewing and interpreting Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs) and identifying associated legal and commercial risks.
