A prestigious UK law firm is looking for a Risk Lawyer to join their General Counsel & Risk Team.
This Risk Lawyer role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer with a strong background in professional negligence and regulatory risk to move into an in-house position that offers excellent flexibility.
Key Responsibilities for the Risk Lawyer role:
- Advising the firm on professional negligence, claims, and complaints, including risk mitigation strategies.
- Supporting the General Counsel on complex risk and regulatory matters affecting the firm.
- Assisting with the management of potential and actual claims, including liaising with insurers where required.
- Providing guidance to partners and fee earners on professional conduct and risk issues.
- Contributing to the firm’s supervision framework, ensuring appropriate oversight and compliance with regulatory expectations.
- Analysing data and risk trends to help identify potential areas of exposure and recommend preventative measures.
- Supporting the development and delivery of risk training and guidance across the firm.
- Working closely with other teams within Risk & Compliance, including financial crime, conflicts, and data protection.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or common law jurisdiction).
- Strong understanding of professional negligence and professional risk, ideally gained within a law firm, or insurer.
- Significant experience working in law firms and a strong understanding of law firm culture, structure and risk
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to advise and influence senior stakeholders.
