A leading UK law firm is looking for a Risk & Compliance Analyst to join their Risk & Compliance team in their Southampton office.
This is a great opportunity for someone with early experience in legal compliance to develop their knowledge across key regulatory areas, including anti-money laundering, conflicts, sanctions, and firmwide compliance processes.
Key Responsibilities for the Risk & Compliance Analyst role:
- Responding to enquiries on AML, sanctions, client due diligence, and conflicts of interest.
- Conducting preliminary conflict checks and analysing results, escalating complex matters where necessary.
- Supporting client onboarding processes, including the use of compliance systems and conducting background searches.
- Assisting with the maintenance and roll-out of compliance policies and procedures.
- Supporting internal audits, accreditations (e.g. Lexcel), and regulatory reviews.
- Collaborating on firmwide risk projects, including new system implementation and compliance training initiatives.
- Helping prepare internal communications and guidance materials to improve awareness of compliance obligations across the business.
Qualifications & Skills:
- At least 6–12 months’ experience in a risk, compliance or onboarding role within a law firm environment.
- Solid understanding of the Money Laundering Regulations and SRA regulatory framework.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy and organisation.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel essential). Experience using conflict checking or client due diligence systems (such as Creditsafe or Peppermint) would be advantageous.
