Head of Conflicts

A leading international law firm is looking an experienced senior legal professional to take on the role of Head of Conflicts based in their London office

As Head of Conflicts you will lead the strategic direction of the firms conflicts function across Europe and the US, playing a key role in the firm’s global New Business Intake (NBI) operations.

Key Responsibilities for the Head of Conflicts role:

  • Oversee complex client and matter conflict decisions, ensuring alignment with the firm’s strategic and risk management goals.
  • Act as a senior advisor to firm leadership on conflict-related issues
  • Lead the strategic direction and operations of the Conflicts Team.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, ensuring high performance and ethical standards.
  • Review and negotiate conflict-related provisions in client agreements, engagement letters, and tenders.
  • Drive decision-making on complex legal and commercial conflicts.
  • Lead resolution of post-acceptance conflict matters.
  • Deliver training programs to enhance conflict management across the firm.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new intake processes and technology.
  • Support global alignment of New Business Intake (NBI) practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Senior lawyer with extensive experience in conflicts of interest and risk management

  • Strong legal, commercial, and strategic judgment with a high level of autonomy.

  • Experience in managing cross-border issues and global policies.

  • Collaborative leadership style, especially in global, matrixed environments.
