A prominent international law firm is looking for a Conflicts Officer to join their London Risk & Compliance Team.
The ideal candidate for the Conflicts Officer role will have experience in handling conflicts within an international law firm who is able to independently manage and review conflict checks during out-of-hours period (4:30 PM – 11:30 PM GMT).
Key Responsibilities for the Conflicts Officer role:
- Conduct and analyse conflict checks, assessing legal and commercial conflicts across multiple jurisdictions.
- Review new client and matter intake requests, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and firm policies.

Liaise with partners and legal teams to resolve potential conflicts and confidentiality issues.

Provide guidance on ethical compliance and risk management, particularly regarding SRA Standards and Regulations and other global conflict rules
- Identify and escalate sanctions-related issues to the appropriate teams.
- Assist with conflict-related training and mentoring for junior team members.
- Support the recruitment and onboarding process for new team members.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the Conflicts Team.
Qualifications:

2-3 years’ experience in conflicts analysis within an international law firm.
- Strong understanding of conflicts of interest rules, confidentiality obligations, and risk management.
- Experience using Intapp Open, Elite/3E, or similar conflict-checking systems.
- Knowledge of global legal and regulatory frameworks, including UK, EU, Middle East, and US conflict rules.
