Commercial Lawyer
A US law firm is looking for a Commercial Lawyer to join their Risk Team in London.
The Commercial Lawyer role would be ideal for someone working withing the risk team of an international law firm, alternatively a fee earning Contracts / Commercial Lawyer who is looking to transition to an in-house role.
Key Responsibilities for the Commercial Lawyer role:
- Draft, negotiate, and manage complex client-facing contracts and commercial agreements across various business sectors.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and internal policies in all client contracts.
- Identify and evaluate legal and business risks, providing pragmatic and strategic solutions to mitigate them.
- Advise and collaborate with partners on client requirements, commercial requests, and contractual obligations.
- Draft and maintain agreements, templates, client communications, and operational playbooks.
- Assist with firm responses to client compliance and risk-related audits.
- Enhance the efficiency and scalability of legal support provided by the in-house Risk team.
- Supervise and work alongside the administrative staff of the Risk team.
Qualifications:
- England & Wales qualified solicitor (4pqe+)
- Proven experience either as a practicing lawyer on client matters or an in-house role within an international law firm.
- Familiarity with business development, compliance audits, and strategic risk management.
- A proactive, resourceful, and solution-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and accountability.
